Description
Extremely large and heavy orthoceras ornately carved mortar and pestle. Measures 5″ tall, top has 4 1/2″ diameter, and it weighs 4.5 lbs. Very unique!
Orthoceras are a group of extinct marine cephalopods that date back 400-600 million years. The name orthoceras means “straight horn,” and refers to its long conical shell. These fossils come out of Morocco.
